2024: Product Announcement

In April 2024, the Kalashnikov concern presented an electric version of the IZH-49 motorcycle. It is retro-inspired and designed for urban travel.

According to the press service of the concern, the electric bike received a brushless DC engine, with air cooling with a maximum power of 20 kW and a rotation speed of 4000 rpm. The maximum speed of the motorcycle is declared at 95 km/h.

"

The length of the vehicle is 2090 mm with a wheelbase of 1430 mm, dry weight - 130 kg. Depending on the conditions and manner of driving, the bike can cover up to 100 km on a single battery charge.

The capacity of the lithium-ion battery is not disclosed, but at the premiere of the prototype in 2020, four kilowatt hours were reported. However, the pre-production version had a range of less - 80 km.

The motorcycle will be produced in a limited number - only 49 copies. Its cost was not disclosed by mid-April 2024.

The coloring and design are in a style consistent with the original era. "IZh-49" with a gasoline engine was produced from 1950 to 1958. It is worth paying attention to the sidewalls of the tires: instead of the traditional white for retro technology, they have the same shade as the bike itself.

The Kalashnikov concern said that the limited batch of Izh two-wheeled equipment will include historical replicas of motorcycles manufactured at the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant (now Kalashnikov Concern JSC) from 1951 to 1990, as well as experimental models and modern developments of the concern, which were manufactured in small batches on special orders. Among them are the Café Racer electric bike, the IZH heavy motorcycle (for the Cortege government project), as well as modifications of the IZH Pulsar electric motorcycle[1]
