NAC Azot, a large fertilizer producer, has introduced a comprehensive recommendation system for ammonia production. The digital solution allows you to maintain the optimal values ​ ​ of technological parameters necessary for the effective use of raw materials and increase production. Based on the information that comes every 10 minutes from more than 250 devices that control the technological process, mathematical models are calculated and optimal values ​ ​ are found for the current state of the workshop. When creating the recommendation system, the specifics of the workshop, permissible norms of the technological regime and other technological limitations were taken into account. First, experts studied the historical data of the workshop, then, based on the results of analytical control, they developed and tested a global optimizer on mathematical models. It was he who formed the basis of the recommendation system. In order to quickly improve the solution and make changes, the project team at each stage of implementation checked the production requirements and impressions of the production personnel. Balance tests of the recommendation system were successfully carried out in December 2023.

The solution uses a set of data from instruments (instruments) and in-line chromatographs in real time. Based on the information that comes every minute from more than 250 devices that control the technological process, mathematical models are calculated and optima are found for the current state of the workshop. The system allows you to maintain the optimal values ​ ​ of technological parameters necessary for the effective use of raw materials.

The increase in ammonia production under the current operating conditions of the workshop is + 1.53% or + 25 tons/day, which is confirmed by the results of balance tests. Cost reduction due to reduction of specific consumption of natural gas, which accounts for 90% of variable costs in ammonia production: -2% per ton of products. The expected economic effect is more than 100 million rubles per year.
