2024: Transfer of corporate communications to the solutions of the Russian "Trukonf"

KIOCL, one of the leading iron ore mining companies in India, has translated corporate communications into Trukonf solutions. Secure remote interaction between employees of the enterprise was established thanks to the use of video conferencing and the TrueConf messenger, more than 1000 specialists were able to quickly coordinate work and production processes without the need for face-to-face meetings. According to them, the extractive industry in India has a significant impact on the entire economy of the country - in 2023, the total export of iron ore from India exceeded 44 million tons. Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL) is one of the main iron ore mining enterprises in the country with its main office in Bangalore, an exporter of products to foreign markets. The company is administered by the Indian Ministry of Steel Industry and its structure also includes a granulation plant in Mangalore and an iron ore mine in Kudremukh.

According to Trukonf, despite the presence of geographically distributed mining and production enterprises, the company did not have a single communication solution for building an effective workflow, communication between all divisions of the company, and the prompt solution of economic, production and logistics issues. And unstable network channels made it difficult to choose the right IT solution that would allow for the process of interaction and coordination between remote employees.

First of all, the management of KIOCL was faced with the task of finding a VKS platform that would not only guarantee employees secure video conferencing and safe collaboration, but also capable of functioning within the closed loop of an enterprise protected from external access.

Based on this requirement, the IT KIOCL department decided to conduct a series of testings the Russian VKS platforms, TrueConf Server including checking system fault tolerance, operability on unstable network channels and compliance with high enterprise standards for communication security. Upon completion of the tests, as a result of which full compliance with the quality requirements and functionality of the VKS platform was noted, TrueConf Server became the central element of the KIOCL communication network.

The TrueConf Server-based VKS infrastructure operates in the enterprise's corporate network and supports operation without access to the Internet, which eliminates any risks of unauthorized access to the VKS infrastructure from outside. Data storage and processing is carried out in the KIOCL inner loop, and the company's specialists exercise full administrative control over communications.

The final communications network brought together over 1000 KIOCL employees - managers, leading engineers, employees of production and other departments. All employees are in a single address space - the address book makes it easy to search for colleagues, call them on the fly, communicate and exchange files and images in the chat, and the availability status shows which of the users is available for communication at the moment.

At the same time, employees of production departments can take part in conferences without reference to workplaces - Trukonf cross-platform applications are installed on employees' personal devices, which ensures a high speed of decision-making and response to emergency situations. Chat synchronization allows employees to access the entire corporate communication history at any time and continue to work together regardless of location, and all data is stored in a secure file storage.

Thanks to the integration of the VKS platform with SIP and H.323 devices, in addition to remote employees and workplaces, KIOCL meeting rooms were connected to the VKS network, and also provided integration with telephony, subscribers of which can be called directly from Trukonf client applications.
