2024: Sentence - 5.5 years in a maximum security colony for bribes

The former chief physician of the neuropsychiatric dispensary of hospital No. 71 in the city of Ozersk, Vladimir Kichatov, was sentenced to five and a half years in a maximum security colony and a fine of six million rubles. The defendant pleaded guilty to systematically receiving bribes from relatives of patients. The total amount of offerings received amounted to 1.8 million rubles. Despite the guilty plea, remorse and assistance to the investigation, the convict received a prison term.

After the announcement of the verdict, the arrest on Kichatov's property was upheld, and the funds seized during the searches were confiscated and turned into an additional penalty in the form of a fine.

Vladimir Kichatov was detained at the end of July 2023. A month earlier, he resigned from hospital No. 71, where he headed a psychiatric dispensary, of his own free will.
