The system of Distance Learning Joomla LMS is the set of powerful instruments of distance learning based on Joomla CMS open code system. It is an end-to-end system with the innovation options of training and testing, the advanced applications in the field of conference communication.

The test in JoomlaLMS

"Tests" in the system of distance learning ^JoomlaLMSRU are a professional tool of an examination which allows to carry out certification with different options of test tasks. This tool can be used as for incoming inspection which is in certain cases necessary before studying of a rate, and for final and intermediate testing, for example: after the termination of certain sections of a rate.

Below tools which are intended for work with tests and questions in ^JoomlaLMSRU are selected:

The functionality of a system allows to create questions in:

• To "The general base of questions", for reuse in different rates
• To Base of questions within one rate that allows to have access to them only to the author

The quantity of questions is unlimited. Not to get confused to what subject / subject these or those questions belong, they can be sorted, using Categories.

There are two options of adding of questions:

• manually in the general base or in tests
• import of the list of questions to the general base (CSV file)

Before starting creation of questions, we will consider creation of categories which they can treat.

The Categories of Base of Questions tool shown in the drawing below is intended for creation of categories:

There are three tools for category management: the new category to change category, to delete category. These tools are shown below:

When adding category there is a possibility of branching and creation of subcategories. For creation of category  of a specific rate it is necessary to specify a rate, for example: "Management". For creation of the new category which is not relating to any rate — to select field value "The parent category = Is not present", as shown in the drawing below:

Preserving of new category happens similar to preserving of a new question (it is described below).

Let's consider process of adding of new questions in the general base of questions and also creation of the test for a rate and adding of questions directly in a rate.
To add a question to the general base of questions, we specify from the Question type list and we select the New Question button, as shown in the drawing below:

To you the window for creation and setup of a question of the selected type will open. When adding a question, the indication of necessary parameters, such as category, number of attempts of the answer, number of points for the correct answer, indications of parameters of a feedback — it is necessary to save settings, see below:

When using the Save a Question tool — settings are saved, and the user returns to the page of the general base of questions. When using the Apply tool — settings are saved, but the user remains in a question edit window. This opportunity is especially relevant during creation of the "Fissile region" question. At first it is necessary to save the image on which the correct answer is specified, using "Apply". And only then you set the correct area of the answer on this image.

In the general base of questions it is possible to look at statistics of the correct/wrong answers to each question. The Viewing Statistics tool selected in the drawing below is for this purpose intended:

The given statistical information is presented in the form of charts, see the drawing below:

This tool is useful when it is necessary to reveal questions at answers to most of which of users had difficulties. It is recommended to prepare additional material on the matters, or to hold a webinar (such opportunity is present at  ^JoomlaLMSRU) where the most difficult places of a rate will understand in detail. Quick response will allow to improve digestion of new material that will increase quality of training.

For management of questions of the general base / the special toolbar located below under the list of questions exists questions in tests in ^JoomlaLMSRU:

To copy a question, select it by means of a marker, and select "Copy a question(s)". You will see a dialog box in which it is necessary to specify the test and category where your question will be copied (see the drawing below).

1. Publish a question(s) — the tool allows to show/display required questions in the test. Unpublished questions cannot be added to test tasks.
2. Hide a question(s) — the tool allows to remove questions which are not relevant from the publication.
3. Change a question — the tool allows to change the necessary question.
4. Delete a question(s) — the tool allows to delete question/group of questions irrevocably.
5. Copy a question(s) — the tool is intended for copying of already created questions. Questions can be copied from the test in the test and also in one test. In the latter case the copied questions should be renamed. This tool will help you to accelerate work if you have questions with identical settings, and only questions and answers change in them.
6. Move a question(s) — the tool performs transaction of transfer of questions from one category in another, or from a rate in a rate. Process of transfer is similar to process of copying of questions.
7. Print preview — the tool allows to check work of any question without passing of tests, without coming out the list of questions. It is enough to select a necessary question and to click Print preview.

Let's consider process of creation of the test and also its setup. We come into a rate where it is required to create the test, using the Tests tool (). To us the Management of Tests window, see in the drawing will open below:

Many tools, for example: change / delete / copy the test, etc. are identical to what we considered above (tools of "The general base of questions"). Only we will delete / copy / change and move not questions, but tests any more.

Let's use the New Test button.

Tests in ^JoomlaLMSRU have many different settings. Except the Parameters tab with inline tunings, there are four more. The Base of Questions tab allows to use in the test questions from the general base of questions. In the drawing the example where it is visible that 10 simple questions and 10 questions of advanced level from Management rate will be added to the test is shown below:

The Feedback tab allows to leave messages to users at their answers to test questions, see below:

The Overview tab allows to configure reports on tests for trainees. For example viewing errors after passing of the test. The Overview tab is shown in the drawing below:

On the Expansions tab parameters of viewing test results are specified.

Except the considered possibilities of setup of tests in ^JoomlaLMSRU it is necessary to pay attention to such opportunity as certification. A system gives the chance of obtaining certificates with your unique template for the users who successfully passed a test.
