2024: DocsInBox.AI Introduction

The DocsInBox service will invest 30 million rubles in its own AI solution for restaurants. The company announced this on June 6, 2024.

As of June 2024, 15 million rubles have already been spent on product development.

During testing the solution, DocsInBox analysts found that the accountant's labor costs for working with items decreased by 25%. In money for the owner of the point, analysts estimate the savings at 1.5-2.4 million rubles - depending on the rate of the accountant of the HoReCa segment in the region where catering works.

DocsInBox.AI is based on a language model NLP (natural language processing), which analyzes a set of items in a restaurant, compares them with what the supplier sent, and based on these data , selects the most suitable items. The model is trained on an array of data from:

  • more than 30 million electronic invoices;
  • more than 50 million documents from government services (EGAIS, FGIS Mercury);
  • more than 11 million manual comparisons.

DocsInBox processes more than 1 million documents each month that contain item information. As of June 2024, most test samples show AI results of at least 75% in the top 3.

The restaurant receives hundreds of units of products with different names. The accountant must correlate the name of each item from the supplier with what is already present in the restaurant's accounting system. For example, a product called "Canned Tomatoes" came to the restaurant, and in the accounting system it is listed as just "Tomatoes." In order for the system to understand that the items are the same and to correctly accept the goods on the balance sheet, usually the accountant must manually mark such a correspondence. This takes from half an hour to three hours a day - depending on the volume of purchases. For a year, this is a lot of money for business: often an accountant at a restaurant not in the state, but at an outsider or hourly rate, "said Leonid Dovbenko, co-founder of the DocsInBox service.
