On June 24, 2024, it became known that a new multifunctional driverless boat "Vodomerka" was presented in Kronstadt. Developed by Aviation and Marine Electronics from St. Petersburg, the boat is designed to scout and protect ships of the Navy of the Russian Federation from enemy naval drones.

According to RIA Novosti, the Vodomerka boat was originally developed for the Ministry of Transport for hydrographic work. Subsequently, it was adapted for the needs of the Navy so that it could carry out reconnaissance, patrol and ship defense missions. According to a representative of the development company, the Vodomerka boat has high autonomy and is able to follow a given route without operator control. This makes it a valuable tool for various military missions, including protection against sea drones. In addition, the boat can be used as an impact means.

The interlocutor of the agency noted that Vodomerka got its name due to its original purpose - the construction of a 3D model of the bottom. However, due to its unique characteristics and capabilities, it attracted the attention of the military. The direction of sea drones is promising, many enterprises are now doing this. I note that the company "Aviation and Marine Electronics" was the first in Russia to make an unmanned boat of this size, - said the representative of the company.

The company's stand says that the boat is 10 meters long, the payload is up to 1.5 tons, and the maximum speed is up to 30 sea knots (55.5 km/h). The boat is also equipped with modern navigation and communication systems, which allows it to efficiently perform tasks in all weather conditions.[1]
