2024: Using AI to Prevent Suicides

Sergei Moroz explained that the AI system analyzes the behavior of people in the cameras and immediately notifies staff when suspicious actions are detected. This enables employees to respond quickly to possible threats and take action to prevent incidents.

The Digital SIZO program is part of a broader project to introduce artificial intelligence in various areas of public administration. According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, more than 100 national and 19 international standards in the field of AI have been developed in Russia. Ten Russian companies and universities have signed a declaration on the responsible development and use of generative artificial intelligence, which emphasizes the importance and priority of this area.

The Minister of Economic Development of RFMaxim Reshetnikov noted that Russia is among the top 10 countries in terms of total computing power using AI, and the total level of implementation of these technologies in the country's economy is 31.5%. This demonstrates the high potential and efficiency of the use of artificial intelligence in various fields, including the penitentiary system.[1]
