2024: Establishing a Company

On July 1, 2024, it became known that the former mayor of Volgograd, Yevgeny Ishchenko, created a company specializing in the extraction of cryptocurrencies. The entrepreneur has expanded his business interests by opening a new line of activity in the field of digital assets.

According to the publication V1RU Volgograd, Ishchenko is the owner of the Sibmain online store, which sells mining equipment from leading manufacturers. The company also claims to have its own data centers in Siberia.

The Sibmain trademark is registered at Synergy LLC, where Evgeny Ishchenko owns 85% of the shares, and his partner Evgeny Pelogeyko - 15%. In addition, the ex-mayor, through a number of legal entities, owns Sibmine K and Sibmine I, which, despite the similarity of names, are not formally associated with the Sibmain brand.

At the end of 2023, Sibmine K demonstrated a significant increase in financial indicators. The company's revenue reached 1.25 billion rubles, which is three times higher than in 2022. Net profit amounted to almost 2.2 million rubles, while in 2022 a loss of 7.6 million rubles was recorded.

Sibmine I's subsidiary, registered in Irkutsk in 2022, also showed positive results. Its revenue amounted to 167 million rubles, and net profit - 2.5 million rubles. It is noteworthy that this company was created together with the energy structures of Oleg Deripaska's holding.

Evgeny Ishchenko is known for his versatile activities. In the 1990s, he owned MDM Bank, and in the early 2000s - the Volgograd River Port. He served as mayor of Volgograd from 2003 to 2006. In 2007, he was sentenced to a year in prison for illegal entrepreneurship and possession of ammunition, but did not enter the colony due to the offset of time spent in the pre-trial detention center.[1]
