2024: Start of production of components for electric motors

Velikoluksky Plant "Transneftemash," a branch of Transneft-Upper Volga JSC, launched the production of domestic components for asynchronous traction motors. This became known on July 4, 2024.

According to Interfax, the company plans to manufacture more than 110 items of parts in 2024, including internal and external cooling fans, as well as their machined cases and casings. These components are designed for three-phase asynchronous AC traction motors, which will be produced by JSC "RED," which is part of the Transneft system.

Velikoluksky plant "Transneftemash" is not limited to the production of parts for electric motors. The enterprise's product range also includes import-substituting anti-turbulent additive injection plants, oil quantity and quality measurement systems (QCQS), pressure wave smoothing systems for oil pipelines and turbine flow transducers.

The plant management announced plans to further expand the range of products. In the near future, it is planned to develop new types of equipment, such as mobile LQMS and pipe-piston verification units. Special attention is paid to the creation of a domestic model of a compact prover, which will completely replace the import of this equipment.

The production of high-voltage electric motors in Russia is carried out by the Russian Electric Motors company, created in 2015 by the joint efforts of Transneft and Konar JSC with the participation of the Italian technological partner Nidec ASI. The company, opened in 2018, is designed for the annual production of up to 300 electric motors with a capacity of up to 14 MW for pumping main and retaining units.[1]
