2024: Implementation of PIX BI as a Business Intelligence Platform

Gazprom Neft is implementing the Russian PIX BI solution to visualize the company's data. The domestic business analytics system from PIX Robotics has been chosen as a platform for developing the self-service direction in the Data Laboratory product, within which thousands of company employees work. PIX Robotics was informed about this on July 5, 2024.

Gazprom Neft has been using specialized data analysis tools for more than 10 years. Over the years of practice, the company has formed two areas: "Business Analytics" (classic BI for creating static corporate dashboards) and "Data Laboratory" (self-service BI).

A few years ago, the Gazprom Neft team began the transition of all data tools to Russian software, integrating them among themselves.

By this time, the direction of self-service BI to Gazprom Neft had developed for about three years: more than 8,000 users joined the Data Laboratory and created more than 6,000 applications. The Data Lab has become a versatile tool that allows employees without programming skills to easily work with datacets and effectively solve data analysis problems. Therefore, one of the criteria when choosing a domestic solution was the focus on self-service, that is, the solution should be intuitive and does not require long training.

In addition, it was necessary to fully work with the system through the web interface, the presence of personal directories for creating your own applications by business users, the ability to independently download and process data from external sources, share work with colleagues.

As part of the project to select a domestic business analytics system, Gazprom Neft examined all the solutions presented at that time on the market. Successful load testing, integration with the Gazprom Neft data store and compliance with the stated criteria showed that the PIX BI system can be the optimal solution for migration.

The concept of Self-service BI is becoming more popular, as it speeds up and simplifies the process of collecting and analyzing information necessary for the successful development of the company. This shows the experience of Gazprom Neft as a visionary in the Russian BI market. Thanks to constructive feedback from colleagues, we have significantly improved the functionality and performance of PIX BI. Nevertheless, for the PIX team, this is just the beginning of joint work with Gazprom Neft.
