2024: Start of production

On June 26, 2024, it became known that the first certified production of ceramic zirconium discs for dentistry, allowing the manufacture of dental crowns according to a 3D model of the patient's jaw, was launched in Russia. The project was implemented by the Tomsk company Nova-Health, founded by employees of Tomsk State University (TSU).

According to the website of Tomsk State University, the new material for dental crowns has already been registered by Roszdravnadzor. According to the university, ceramic discs under the Nova brand are capable of replacing imported analogues and are not inferior to them in quality, color, strength and transparency.

In Russia, launched the production of ceramic discs for tooth restoration according to the 3D model of the jaw

The development of the material was carried out by scientists of the scientific and educational center "Additive Technologies" of the university. From the created disks, dental techniques can make crowns of the desired shape, thickness and color for several hours.

According to Nova Health CEO Vladimir Promakhov, it took 2-3 years to obtain a Russian marketing authorization and a number of studies, including technical, toxicological and clinical trials in certified laboratories.

It is very important that the added value of the products we produce remains in the Russian economy. That is, we do not bring a completely finished product from the same China, sending all the money to their economy - 50% of our technologies are already domestic, - said Promakhov.

As indicated on the TSU website, by the end of June 2024, Tomsk products are supplied to clinics and dental laboratories in Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ryazan and the Urals. In the future, it is planned to organize the production of domestic powders for the manufacture of dental ceramics.

The development of ceramic zirconium discs for dentistry was carried out with the support of the strategic project "Safety Technologies" within the framework of the federal program "Priority 2030."[1]
