Customers: Federal Registration Service

Moscow; State and social structures

Project date: 2024/06

On July 8, 2024, it became known about Rosreestr's plans to introduce new generation firewalls (NGFW) worth 1 billion rubles. This project is aimed at strengthening the information security of the department and meets modern requirements for the protection of the digital infrastructure of state bodies.

According to CNews, Positive Technologies will develop information protection tools for Rosreestr. The project is being implemented within the framework of the New System-Wide Software Roadmap, approved by the Government Commission for Digital Development. According to the plan, the new product should reach the maximum level of technological readiness by 2025.

Rosreestr plans to introduce NGFW

The next generation firewalls that Rosreestr plans to implement have a number of advantages over traditional solutions. As defined by analyst firm Gartner, NGFWs should provide scalability, seventh-level application performance, zero-day attack protection, and easy-to-use tools for administration and reporting.

It is expected that the new Rosreestr protection system will support the interception and collection of network traffic at high speeds, classification and definition of various types of protocols, as well as IPS/IDS (intrusion detection and prevention systems) functions. In addition, the product should provide network perimeter protection, firewall and communication between branches and data centers of the department.

The implementation of NGFW in Rosreestr is part of a wider trend to strengthen cybersecurity in the public sector. Similar projects are being implemented in other departments. For example, VTB State Bank will invest 1.6 billion rubles in the development of two NGFW products together with the Security Code company.

According to forecasts of the general director of RTK-Solar Igor Lyapunov, by 2025 the Russian NGFW market will reach a volume of 19.1 billion rubles, while the share of domestic developers will be 75%.[1]
