2024: Implementation of SerchInform CIB and SerchInform FileAuditor

The service center in the housing and communal sector of Yekaterinburg (hereinafter referred to as the Service Center) has introduced the products of the ecosystem of the SearchInform company to protect the personal data of citizens. The decision to cooperate was made in 2023. As of July 2024, the institution has deployed the SearchInform CIB DLP system and the SearchInform FileAuditor DCAP system. SearchInform announced this on July 9, 2024.

The main task set by the customer is comprehensive data protection, prevention of information leaks, personal data and confidential documents.

We work daily with a large amount of data from citizens, so we take the issue of ensuring information security seriously. To minimize the risks of leaks, we have implemented two vendor products at once. We liked that CIB seamlessly integrates with the DCAP solution, allowing us to significantly expand the functionality of the data leakage protection system. Plus, the flexible setting of the rules saved the information security service from unnecessary work, - said Sergey Baranov, director of the Service Center.

The first Service Center implemented a DLP system from SearchInform. The solution helps to control popular channels of information transfer in the corporate perimeter, identify and prevent violations, as well as block dangerous actions of users with confidential documents.

In addition, solving the main tasks of information security in the institution, CIB also copes with additional: system reports help to increase the efficiency of the use of working time, - said Sergey Baranov.

The task of strengthening PD protection and controlling file storage is helped by SerchInform FileAuditor. The program facilitates control over access to vulnerable information - it automatically monitors open resources, files available to a specific user with privileged rights.

The protection of personal data remains a priority for government organizations. At the same time, digitalization leads to the fact that citizens' data accumulate on a large scale in GIS. GIS vulnerability is associated with a human factor - employees of various organizations can have access to data. And this creates the risks of leaks and opens up additional opportunities for attackers. So, according to our study, in 2023, 54% government organizations faced a PD leak, which is 2% more than in 2022. All sectors of the economy suffer from leaks without exception, and most importantly, the citizens themselves.
