2024: Service Launch

On July 10, 2024, the Moscow Department of Health launched a new online calculator for doctors, which will allow you to more accurately calculate the radiation dose during computed tomography (CT). The chief radiologist of the capital and director of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine DZMYUriy Vasiliev said that the new tool is already available on the Center's website and is intended for specialists from medical institutions throughout Russia.

Yuri Vasiliev noted that they continue to introduce innovative solutions that help improve the quality of medical care not only in Moscow, but throughout Russia. The experts of the Center for Diagnostics have developed a special online service that allows you to speed up the process of calculating the effective dose of radiation load during CT examination, thereby simplifying the work of the X-ray absorber. The service automatically takes into account patient and study parameters, providing accurate data for safe and effective procedures. Vasiliev stressed that this development is available to all medical institutions of the country absolutely free of charge.

Modern digital equipment in radiation diagnostic rooms has already significantly reduced the radiation load on patients. However, when conducting studies using ionizing radiation, it is important to maintain the value of the effective radiation dose at the lowest possible level. The new calculator takes into account the individual parameters of each patient, which ensures a high level of safety during procedures.

Ilya Soldatov, head of the test laboratory of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the DZM, said that the laboratory has all the necessary competencies for conducting technical control of equipment and assessing the safety of devices. He noted that they carry out tests and measurements to comply with the requirements of regulatory documents, as well as to ensure the quality of diagnostics and safety. One of their activities is to take measurements to determine effective radiation doses. Soldatov stressed that their registration is extremely important both for the patient and for the doctor.

In addition, the Center's laboratory is engaged in solving the problems of technical and dosimetric control in departments and offices of radiation diagnostics. Control of equipment parameters is carried out here, safety of apparatus and workplaces in X-ray rooms is assessed, individual dosimetric control of personnel is carried out and protection means, such as aprons, are checked. Also, specialists measure and calculate effective doses of irradiation of patients.[1]
