Project

Rosneft has combined all IT services on a single digital platform

Customers: Rosneft Oil Company

Moscow; Oil industry

Project date: 2022/03

Rosneft has put into trial operation, and in the near future plans to put into commercial operation the information system "Unified Digital Platform of the Company" (ECPC), which combines all corporate IT services and solutions. Rosneft announced this in its report on sustainable development, published in July 2024.

The key goal of the project is to develop a technology platform with integrated services for creating and monitoring modern applications (PaaS service) based on its own improvements to open source software and domestic products. ECPC provides its own projects and commercial solutions with everything you need - from basic infrastructure to popular services such as databases, message brokers, data stores, visualization, analytics.

ECPC has a microservice architecture. The platform will allow building an effective system of relationships between all digital platforms and Rosneft services, balancing the load on the computing infrastructure between projects, introducing uniform approaches to the development and unification of components and eliminating duplication of costs for the technological component.

Services are ready-made functional components that perform a useful technical or business function with the minimum necessary set of settings that are available to platform users, for example, "Data Base," "Data visualization," etc.

And ECPC storefronts are a set of related objects and tables in the database that are combined into a data model for solving business problems. This model allows you to supplement, update, collect the necessary information by users using modern domestic development tools.

ECPC implements managed services that are import substitution of components such as databases, quality control services, software processes and solutions for working with large amounts of data, software. Rosneft plans to introduce a fully import-substituting ECPC by 2026, according to a sustainability report.

In 2023, as part of the implementation of the digital platform, among other things, a prototype solution was developed that allows modeling the demand for motor fuel. The solution will increase the accuracy of the forecast of demand for motor fuel up to 99%. Management costs and risks will also be reduced - more than 40 manual forecast zones will replace one automated center.

Rosneft expects that the launch of the ECPC into commercial operation will reduce the timing of IT projects in the company to 1.5 years. Among the expected effects is also the creation of IT resources based on the company's platform without the cost of deploying infrastructure for each individual system.
