2024: Product Announcement

In early July 2024, the first full-size general-purpose humanoid robot in China, a machine called Qinglong, was presented at the Zhangjiang High-Tech Park in Shanghai. The development has an open architecture, which is expected to accelerate innovation in robotics and artificial intelligence.

The humanoid Qinglong, with a height of 1.82 meters, weighs approximately 80 kg. The car received 43 degrees of freedom. The robot is highly mobile, and peak torque in the joints reaches 400 N·m. The design combines a "high-bionic torso," movable lower limbs for fast walking, and manipulator arms for high-precision operations. It is claimed that Qinglong is able to stably move on inclined surfaces; in addition, the robot is resistant to external influences such as impacts.

Qinglong Robot

The AI-based Qinglong system provides computing performance of up to 400 TOPS (trillions of operations per second). The robot can mimic certain emotions. It can be used, in particular, to care for the elderly. The machine, for example, is capable of serving objects, laying out fruits and bread on the table and performing other everyday operations related to accurate hand motility. AI-based embedded software gives Qinglong the ability to determine the level of compression force needed to lift a particular object. Thanks to this, the robot can interact with fragile objects without damaging them.

The creators of Qinglong say that thanks to the open platform, new models of humanoid robots can be created annually. In the future, such machines are planned to be integrated into the everyday tasks that people face at home or at work.[1]
