2024: Development and delivery of APCS of SRW CP

To increase the level of automation, reliability, safety and economy of the process equipment, KRUG has developed and supplied automated systems for monitoring and control of the complex for processing solid radioactive waste of the Kurskaya AES-2 (APCS KP SRW). The project was carried out in conjunction with a number of partners. Krug announced this on July 12, 2024.

APCS KP SRW, developed on the basis of the Russian software and hardware (software and hardware) complex KRUG-2000 (PAK CAS KRUG-2000), is designed to control the complex and is designed to ensure the safe and high-tech operation of the equipment, as well as to eliminate the influence of the human factor at a hazardous production facility.

The Kursk aya AES-2 under construction (part of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC) includes two power units of the latest generation of VVER-TOI of increased safety and improved technical and economic characteristics. The total installed capacity of the NPP is 2510 MW. The thermal power of the reactor is 3312 MW. The construction of power units is carried out within the framework of the Federal project "Design and construction of reference power units of nuclear power plants." The purpose of the construction of the Kurskaya AES-2 is to replace power units No. 1 and No. 2 of the Kursk NPP after the end of their service life.

The scope of supply included:

  • Control cabinets equipped with industrial controllers and I/O modules
  • Cabinet with redundant data acquisition servers and gateway interfaces with third-party systems
  • Operator AWS and engineering station installed in ConsErgo console sections. Operator workstations control, collect, process, store and visualize data from controllers.

The basis of automation cabinets is domestic controller equipment from the PAK CAS KRUG-2000, which operates under the control of the real-time controller system (RVC) manufactured by NPF KRUG. Automation cabinets are made with a degree of IP54 protection.

The software used in the system is exclusively of domestic production: the operating system Astra Linux and the Russian SCADA KRUG-2000 version 5.0.

The company NPF KRUG has completed: the development of design documentation for all automation cabinets, the manufacture of automation cabinets, engineering work.
