2024: Start of development of prototype ultraviolet laser plant

The Rybinsk Instrument Making Plant of the Roselectronics Holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation) and the Yaroslavl State Medical University are starting work on creating a prototype of a laser installation with an ultraviolet radiation spectrum. The equipment will be able to be used in the treatment of arterial atherosclerosis - the main cause of circulatory disorders and pathologies caused by it, in particular cardiovascular diseases. Roselectronics announced this on July 11, 2024.

The project is implemented by order. Ministry of Health Russia RZP will act as the manufacturer of the prototype, the term for creating an industrial sample of a new medical device one is 3 years.

The signed agreement also provides for joint activities to develop the scientific and educational potential of the RZP and improve the quality of training of specialists in the development and serial manufacture of medical equipment.

The joint project of the medical university and our plant involves the development of domestic competencies in the field of biomechanics to create high-tech medical equipment. We are very important for the knowledge and experience of practicing doctors to create Russian devices that will allow us to effectively treat such dangerous diseases as arterial atherosclerosis, - said Vladimir Mikhailov, chief designer of the RZP, candidate of technical sciences.

Arterial atherosclerosis plays a major role in the development of cardiovascular disease. Complications from it can cause heart attack, stroke, aneurysm and gangrene.
