One of the areas of work of the Institute will be the development of innovative biomaterials. In particular, the laboratory of nature-like materials is engaged in the creation of biomaterial based on cobweb silk, which is planned to be used for the production of wound healing bandages and suture material.

Particular attention is paid to the development of personalized medicine. The Bioengineered Test Systems Laboratory is working to create three-dimensional biomodels that mimic human tissue, which will more accurately recreate the body's complex biological processes. In turn, the cell culture laboratory is engaged in the development of cellular test systems for personalized diagnosis and therapy.

In the field of bioprinting, work is underway to create a composite bone-cartilaginous bioimplant for replacing defects in osteoarthritis and post-traumatic injuries. The uniqueness of the project consists in combining cartilaginous and bone components into a single structure.

The institute will also be engaged in research in the field of nuclear medicine. As part of the opening, an agreement was signed with a Chinese company on the creation of a research and production center for nuclear medicine in Bashkortostan. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Priority-2030 program, aimed at developing scientific leadership in Russia.[1]
