2024: Transition to the Russian containerization platform

In July 2024, VSK Insurance House announced the transition from the Red HatOpenShift containerization platform to the Russian Nova Container Platform solution developed by Orion soft.

It is noted that the key factors in the choice of Nova Container Platfor are the wide functionality, security and the ability to scale the finished solution. Particular attention was paid to the built-in comprehensive information security platform, which allows you to scan all components of the platform and applications, identify vulnerabilities and analyze the degree of their criticality.

The implementation of the Nova Container Platform will allow the VSK to ensure high fault tolerance and availability of the infrastructure due to the possibility of geodistributed deployment of the platform. This is especially important for the company, given the scale of development and the importance of digital services for business. Dozens of Kubernetes clusters are already operating in the VSK perimeter.

The Nova implementation process is divided into several stages. At the first stage, the program was tested inside the closed circuit of the VSK, basic security policies were configured and integration with the integrated CI/CD Marlin platform from the developer "High Digital Technologies." The next step will be to replicate the platform in circuits that directly fall under the requirements for significant objects of CII.

Renat Sokolov, Chief information officer of VSK, emphasized the importance of the technological collaboration of the Nova and Marlin platforms to create a flexible and scalable foundation for the development and operation of microservice applications. He also noted that the introduction of Russian products will bring the company's IT contours in line with the requirements of the regulator for significant CII facilities.

VSK Insurance House, which has been operating on the market for more than 30 years, has been actively investing in digitalization and the development of its own digital services. The company today has more than 70 product teams and over 700 developers. The manufacturability and speed of bringing products to market are priorities for FRS, which leads to investments in solutions that increase the flexibility and efficiency of development processes.
