2024: Creation of the boat

The Russian Navy has been replenished with the new Project 12418 Stupinets missile boat. This became known in July 2024. The crew of the ship has already been formed and is at the shipyard.

According to TASS, after carrying out all types of tests and receiving the ship, the new combat unit will become part of the Caspian flotilla. Documents and an extract from the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy to assign his own name to the new missile boat have already been received.

"Stupinets" is a modernized version of the legendary Soviet project 1241 "Lightning." The boat is designed to destroy enemy combat surface ships, boats and transports both independently and in cooperation with the strike forces of the fleet.

The displacement of the boat is 580 tons, length - 56.9 m, width - 10.2 m. "Stupinets" is able to reach speeds of up to 29 knots and has an autonomy of 10 days. The range reaches 2900 nautical miles.

The main armament of the boat includes the Uran-E missile system with eight Kh-35 anti-ship missiles. Each missile is capable of hitting surface and ground targets at a distance of up to 260 km. Artillery armament is represented by a 76.2 mm AK-176MA caliber mount and two AK-630M mounts.

We are getting a major boost. The boat has a good artillery component. During modernization, he most likely received a new electronic warfare system, radio equipment. But the most important thing is more long-range modern missiles, - said Vasily Dandykin, military expert captain of the 1st rank.

By mid-July 2024, it is expected that in the near future the Russian Navy will receive another project 12418 boat, which, presumably, will be aimed at strengthening the Black Sea Fleet.^[1]
