2024: Launch of a robotic farm for 400 million rubles

A robotic dairy farm worth ₽400 million was opened in the Luga District of the Leningrad Region. The new complex, launched in July 2024 on the basis of the Rapti breeding plant, will increase milk production to 18 thousand tons per year.

According to the press service of the administration of the Leningrad region, the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko, personally took part in the opening ceremony of a new livestock facility. The head of the region noted that six more such facilities are being built in the region, and taking into account the reconstruction of existing farms, the total number of projects in dairy farming reaches one and a half dozen.

An investment agreement on the construction of a 432-head robotic farm with a voluntary milking system was signed between the Rapti breeding plant and the administration of the Leningrad Region in 2021 at the Agrorus agro-industrial exhibition. It is expected that by 2027, when the project reaches its planned capacity, the enterprise will be able to increase the number of cows to 1.5 thousand heads, and productivity will reach 12 thousand kg per cow.

Alexander Drozdenko stressed that the Leningrad region occupies a leading position in Russia in a number of indicators in agriculture. In the first six months of 2024, 360.7 thousand tons of milk were produced in the region, which is 1.6% more than in the same period in 2023. The region ranks first in the country in terms of dairy productivity with a yield of 9916 kg per feed cow per year, as well as eighth in Russia and first in the North-West Federal District for the production of milk in agricultural organizations.

The opening ceremony of the farm was also attended by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues Vladimir Kashin, who highly appreciated the achievements of the Leningrad Region in the field of agriculture.

The Governor of the region noted an increase in state support for the agro-industrial complex in 2024.
