The EcoPoint company has installed a smart device for receiving recyclable materials in the Gorky branch of the Federal Passenger Company (FPC). Depot employees and long-distance train conductors sort waste directly during car cleaning and hand over secondary resources to the device for a monetary reward. One of the key tasks of the Gorky-Moskovsky passenger carriage depot is to organize separate waste collection. Long-distance trains generate a significant amount of solid municipal waste, which after flights are collected on the territory of the depot. More than 50% of this waste is recyclable. The introduction of the apparatus made it possible to organize a system of separate collection of secondary resources, increase the level of environmental responsibility of employees, and reduce waste disposal costs.

The pilot introduction of the EcoPoint smart device made it possible to increase the volume of secondary waste sent for processing and reduce the volume of waste that is transferred by the regional operator Nizhekology2 to the landfill. The project meets the concept of the development of FPC in the field of ecology: an increase in the utilization and involvement of production waste in secondary circulation by 182% until 2030, - said Alexander Gordeev, leading technologist of FPC JSC.

The round-the-clock operation of the device increased the availability of the service, and the payment of remuneration through the Fast Payment System made it possible to involve the maximum number of employees in separate waste collection.

The pilot project, launched following the results of the Russian Railways Transport Accelerator, shows how it is possible to effectively organize a separate waste collection system. The installation of the apparatus made it possible to achieve important environmental goals of the Gorky branch of the FPC: to increase the motivation of employees for separate collection, as well as to increase the percentage of recoverability of useful fractions from the total volume of waste in the depot. We hope that the result of the project will be an incentive for the development of this and other environmental initiatives in the company, "said Anton Turchenko, CEO of EcoPoint.

Recycling has become not only a useful habit for employees of the Gorky branch of FPC, but also a source of additional income. The informative interface of the device taught users to properly prepare secondary resources for processing, which increased their environmental enlightenment and reduced logistics costs.

EcoPoint devices not only transform urban spaces, but also began to be used at Russian Railways transport infrastructure facilities, which gives them the opportunity to spread throughout the country in the coming years.
