On July 23, 2024, a new seed plant worth ₽620 million was opened in the Chelyabinsk region. The modern selection and seed complex "Sitno" began its work in the Agapovsky district.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sitno Plant Pavel Zhuravsky and Head of the Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Roman Nekrasov. The head of the region emphasized the importance of the project to strengthen the leadership position of the region in the agro-industrial complex not only of the Ural Federal District, but of the whole country.
The implementation of the project became possible thanks to the support of the federal state program and the regional budget. The Governor noted that financial investments in the plant are aimed primarily at creating jobs and improving the living conditions of rural residents.
The new complex will allow managing key processes in seed production: preparing grain for sowing, increasing yield and zoning grain to increase the efficiency of agricultural work. The planned capacity of the plant is 10 thousand tons of grain seeds per year.
The facility began construction in 2022 and was completed in record time - in just one year. On the territory of the complex there are lines for preliminary purification and intermediate storage of seed material, a seed line and an etching line operating in the full treatment cycle mode.
Pavel Zhuravsky expressed gratitude to the governor for supporting the project and stressed the importance of interaction between science and agriculture. According to him, this cooperation will increase land yields in the specific climatic conditions of the Southern Urals.
Alexey Teksler announced his readiness to continue to support projects in the field of the agro-industrial complex. He stressed that the development of the village is a strategic priority for the region, ensuring the integrated development of rural areas, including social infrastructure.[1]
