2024: Product Launch

The company, the creator of OpenAI the popular neural network, ChatGPT announced the launch of its own search engine SearchGPT on July 25, 2024. The new technology-based service artificial intelligence offers users the ability to receive responses to requests in the form of a dialogue.

According to "Cnews," a key feature of SearchGPT is the ability to generate "fast responses with understandable sources." The search engine is based on the GPT-4 neural network, which provides high accuracy and speed of processing requests.

OpenAI launches search engine to compete with Google

SearchGPT not only understands natural language requests, but also supports contextual dialogue with the user. For example, after a question about music festivals, the system can provide additional information about specific events without having to formulate a new request.

Search results in SearchGPT are presented in the form of a brief summary of information with the indication of sources. Users can also switch to classic search mode by getting a standard list of links.

At the moment, SearchGPT is available to a limited number of testers - about 10 thousand people. OpenAI does not disclose the timing of the full-scale launch of the service, but plans to integrate search functions directly into ChatGPT in the future.

To generate search results, OpenAI collaborates with third-party partners and uses direct content channels. The company's partners include The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press and Vox Media.

The launch of SearchGPT could be a major challenge for Google, which has been actively introducing artificial intelligence features into its search engine recently. In addition, the new OpenAI service will compete with search engine Perplexity, which also uses AI technologies.[1][2]
