2024: Redemption of grain terminal in Taganrog for billions of rubles

The company "Eurasia Logistics," specializing in grain transportation, acquired a grain terminal in Taganrog. The deal, estimated by experts at ₽3,5 billion, was completed in July 2024.

According to Kommersant, Eurasia Logistics became the owner of Taganrog Grain Terminal LLC (TZT) and TSRZ LLC. Previously, these assets belonged to Alexander Rappoport through the company Ravard Invest LLC. The transaction is confirmed by data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL).

Grain carrier Eurasia Logistics bought out a grain terminal in Taganrog for billions of rubles

The Taganrog Grain Terminal, founded in 2010, owns a transshipment facility in the port of Taganrog on the Sea of Azov. LLC TSRZ, established in 2008 and providing grain transshipment services.

Eurasia Logistics, founded in 2022, is owned by Ilya Zhelnov and owns special grain trucks. The company provides services for the transportation of grain and food goods by rail.

According to the forecasts of the investment banker Ilya Shumov, if Eurasia Logistics retains the export volumes of the terminal, then according to the results of the 2024/25 agricultural season, the company may enter the top 10 grain exporters.

Experts note that in order to recoup the costs of acquiring the terminal, the new owner will probably have to develop grain trading. According to the chairman of the board of the Union of Grain Exporters Eduard Zernin, the main export direction from such terminals is Turkey, which has currently temporarily suspended wheat imports.

In the Azov region, as of July 2024, there are more than 30 grain export terminals. Dmitry Rylko, general director of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, notes that new players are constantly appearing in this region, while the previous ones are going out of business for various reasons.[1]
