Details of the deal were not disclosed. Three interlocutors of Kommersant in the leasing market believe that Alfa Bank or related structures could be an investor in the Deutsche Leasing Vostok transaction. According to one of the interlocutors, one of the AB-holding companies (the parent company of Alfa-Bank) took part in the buyout of Deutsche Leasing East as a minority investor. " Alfa-Bank and Alfa-Leasing deny participation in the transaction.

The possible participation of persons affiliated with companies under sanctions in the transaction raised questions from lawyers, but Russian law does not imply any special obligations when making such transactions. The Deutsche Leasing East deal is "likely to have become a portfolio deal," according to two market participants. According to them, "the buyer acquired a liquid portfolio with a large discount." A source familiar with the buyer's plans noted that the new owners see prospects in the leasing segment. They "want to use the experience and client base of the team, which will remain in the company," the source said.

The German leasing company was represented in Moscow and St. Petersburg by the legal entity Deutsche Leasing East AG. Its main activity was to finance medium-sized Russian companies for the purchase of equipment in cooperation with international manufacturers.[1]
