The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation buys Aquarus servers and Aerodisk DSS for 176.7 million rubles for its data center

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia purchases server equipment and data storage systems of domestic production in the amount of ₽176,7 million to modernize its data processing center (DPC). This became known on July 31, 2024.

According to CNews, the Ministry of Agriculture buys 12 servers of the model T50 D224AC manufactured by Aquarius and two data storage systems AERODISK Engine N4 AQ440 from Aerodisk. The purchase is carried out in order to increase the capacity and volume of disk memory of the data center to ensure the sustainable functioning of information systems and infrastructure of the ministry.

According to the terms of reference, Aquarius servers should be equipped with two 16-core processors with a clock speed of 3 GHz, at least 256 GB of DDR4 RAM and solid-state drives of 480 GB each. Data storage systems from Aerodisk must have at least two disk array controllers and cache memory of at least 512 GB.

To ensure the operation of virtual machines and server components of the infrastructure, the Ministry of Agriculture also plans to purchase the virtualization software "Z'virt Virtualization Environment Secure Management System" from Orion soft and the Astra Linux Special Edition operating system with the Maximum security level.

It is important to note that all purchased equipment software should be included in the Unified register of Russian programs for Electronic Computers and Databases, as well as in the Unified Register of Electronic Products. Ministry of Industry and Trade Russia

The search for a supplier is carried out on a competitive basis. The results of the competition are planned to be summed up on August 2, 2024. The customer is the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Management of Office Buildings under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia."[1]
