2024: Electric-powered cruise ship construction begins
Emperium began work on the construction of an electric-powered cruise ship designed for long trips around Lake Baikal. It is being built by order of Vodokhod LLC. It is the lead vessel in the series. Sitronics announced this on August 6, 2024.
Emperium distributes orders to its production facilities. The hull of the vessel this year will begin to be built at the Perm Shipyard, part of the Emerium. For August 2024, the development of design documentation, the purchase of materials for construction is underway. The vessel will be of sea class for inland waterways and operation on Lake Baikal.
The construction is funded by the GTLK from the funds of the National Welfare Fund (NWF) as part of an investment project to update civil water transport in Russia. The delivery of the cruise ship on electric propulsion is scheduled for September 2026.
The three-deck electrical passage "Baikal" in terms of service and comfort will correspond to a level 5 * hotel. The ship has business class and economy class cabins that allow you to comfortably accommodate 68 guests. A panoramic restaurant, bar, spa area, viewing platforms and a solar deck are planned on board. During the inter-navigation period, Baikal will be able to be used as a "floating hotel."
The planned route implies the arrangement of mooring infrastructure and charging capacities in the following points: Irkutsk, about. Olkhon, p. Ust-Barguzin, s. Turka, s. Listvyanka, s. Tankhoi. Due to low draft of 2.5 m, the vessel will be able to enter shallow areas. An alternative source will be installed on board to recharge the batteries if necessary. This will increase the autonomous cruising range to 100 km or 7 days, - shared the general director of Vodokhod LLC Rishat Bagautdinov. |
This is an innovative project for the Russian shipbuilding industry and the development of the country's cruise fleet. When implementing it, all the competencies accumulated earlier by our enterprises during the development and serial production of passenger electric ships will be involved, - said Nikolai Malukhin, General Director of Perm Shipyard. |
