2024: Delivery of ViPNet QKDSim complex
The company "InfoTeCS" has supplied to APOU HE "Vologda College of Communications and Information Technologies" a software and hardware complex for simulating quantum key distribution (KRK) ViPNet QKDSim. College students will be able to practically study technologies in the field of information protection on equipment manufactured by a Russian vendor. InfoTeCS announced this on August 8, 2024.
The simulator clearly demonstrates the principles of CRK based on the generation and detection (reading) of optical information states and allows in practice to study classical and quantum techniques for transmitting information, as well as to consider the effect of sensitivity and noise of the detector on the quantum distribution of keys (system stability).
InfoTeCS develops and manufactures quantum cryptographic systems that are operated on the infrastructure of large Russian companies. We pay great attention to working with educational institutions of higher and secondary special education, since it is the current students who will form the main personnel resource in the quantum communications industry in the near future. The development of practical tools for learning quantum technology skills is a contribution to the future of the industry. The Vologda College of Communications has been our partner for several years, the college already has educational and methodological complexes for products for the protection of ViPNet information. With the advent of ViPNet QKDSim, educational materials have reached a new level, - said Andrey Chapchaev, CEO of InfoTeCS. |
The simulator will allow students to familiarize themselves with the work of three quantum protocols - the BB84 protocol, the GOX protocol and the B92 protocol, and understand the difference in the transmission modes of information states (classical, single-photon and quasi-single-photon).
Obtaining ViPNet QKDSim is a meaningful step for the further development of our college. This equipment will be used for training in the specialties "System Support information security telecommunication " and "Infocommunication Networks and Communication Systems." Students will be able to study quantum key distribution in practice, which will allow them to form skills in information protection information and telecommunication systems and networks using the most modern cryptographic means of protection. The use of advanced technologies in the educational process not only increases the quality of education, but also allows training specialists who are able to solve complex problems in the field of information protection, "said Pavel Troshkin, head of the Center for Informatization of the Vologda College of Communications and Information Technologies. |
