2024: Product Announcement
An innovative system for protecting railway infrastructure from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been developed and presented in Russia. This was announced on August 8, 2024 by the press service of the platform of the National Technology Initiative.
The project was presented by the Federal Technology Company Group (FTC Group), a holding specializing in the protection of industrial and critical infrastructure facilities, and a market participant in the National Technology Initiative Aeronet. The new system consists of three main blocks: the first is aimed at protecting train trains, the second is aimed at ensuring the safety of train stations and stations, the third is a situation center that collects and processes information about drones in airspace.
RussiaVyacheslav Shustov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Technological Development of the FTK, noted that the current version of the system is focused on protecting the railway infrastructure. In the future, it is planned to expand its application to the entire transport and logistics sector, which will ensure the safety of facilities throughout Russia.
According to Shustov, the volume of the Russian market for UAV protection systems in 2023 amounted to ₽23 billion and continues to grow actively. This segment is extremely promising in terms of technology development and implementation of new solutions.
The presentation of the project took place within the framework of the design and educational intensive "Archipelago-2024," where the prospects for the use of Russian unmanned aircraft systems and means of protection against them in the railway industry were discussed. Specialists from the Center for Complex Unmanned Solutions also demonstrated developments aimed at using drones to explore for radioactive contamination of the territory.[1]
