2024: Product Release

On August 6, 2024, the Swiss company Sonova introduced the Phonak Audeo Sphere Infinio hearing aid, which uses artificial intelligence algorithms to process sound in real time. This, it is claimed, significantly increases the clarity and intelligibility of speech in a noisy environment.

The device is made using Sonova's new patented technology, which involves the collaboration of two microchips - Phonak ERA and Deepsonic. The first of these products is an ultra-sensitive solution that, according to Sonova, overrides the standards for sound quality, power management and wireless connection via Bluetooth. AI tools are used to improve speech, while the new antenna provides up to six times the wireless connection power compared to previous generations: thus, stability is improved and range is increased.

The world's first hearing AI devices with a chip that is 53 times more powerful than analogues have been released

In turn, the specialized Deepsonic chip is designed for AI algorithms and deep real-time neural networks (AI/DNN). It is claimed to have 53 times higher computational performance compared to other products that are used in hearing aids. The Deepsonic chip is able to instantly separate speech from background noise; high quality of sound picked up from any direction.

Audeo Sphere Infinio's advanced AI capabilities help reduce user fatigue. Compared to existing analogues on the market, people with hearing impairments need to put 34% less effort when trying to hear speech at a short distance and 45% less effort when listening to speech from the next room. The novelty is compatible with smartphones running Android and iOS operating systems.[1]
