Megafon received a state contract of 153.9 million rubles for sending self-employed SMS

In mid-August 2024, it became known that MegaFon had signed a state contract with the Federal State Institution Tax-Service of the Federal Tax Service of Russia to send SMS notifications to self-employed citizens. Under the agreement, the company undertakes to send almost 35 million messages to users of the My Tax mobile application within a year, the cost of each of which will be ₽4,24. The total value of the contract signed between Megafon and Tax-Service is ₽153,9 million.

According to RB.ru, in addition to sending SMS, the contract includes servicing 256 numbers of FTS employees with international roaming. It is planned that the distribution of messages will be carried out until August 31, 2025.

PJSC "Megafon" became the only participant in these tenders, which is confirmed by the data of the public procurement website. The company already has experience in fulfilling such contracts: in 2023, Megafon also received an order to send SMS messages for the self-employed, then the volume of mailing amounted to about 29 million messages, and the cost of one SMS was estimated at ₽3,96.

For comparison, in 2022 a similar contract was concluded with iEsTelecom, which offered the cost of one message per ₽1,84. However, a month later, the contract was terminated by agreement of the parties.

According to the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the number of registered self-employed in the country as of August 2024 exceeded 10 million people.

The concluded contract emphasizes the scale of work to be carried out by Megafon under this agreement, providing support for the Russian tax system and convenience for millions of self-employed citizens.^[1]
