2024: Sentence - 7 years in prison for preparing terrorist attacks at Rostelecom facilities

In mid-August 2024, a military court sentenced two residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Vyacheslav Koromyslov and Sergei Nazarchuk, accused of preparing a terrorist attack at Rostelecom communications facilities. According to the investigation, the accused planned to blow up cell sites in order to protest the current government and prevent the sending of subpoenas for those mobilized through Public services. The court sentenced them to seven and six years in prison, respectively.

According to Kommersant, according to the investigation, Vyacheslav Koromyslov and Sergei Nazarchuk developed a plan aimed at undermining cellular base stations in the city of Zelenogorsk. One of the motives for the criminals was their conviction that mobile towers negatively affect people's health. Also, the men wanted to prevent the Ministry of Defense from sending subpoenas to those mobilized through electronic services.

To realize their plan, the accused turned to the familiar commander of the military unit with a request to get explosives and equipment for them, including TNT checkers and detonators. However, the serviceman to whom this request was announced immediately reported this to the Federal Security Service. As part of the operational event, the commander handed over a dummy of explosives to the attackers, after which they were detained by FSB officers.

Both persons involved in the case were supporters of the Citizens of the USSR movement, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia. The investigation found that they not only planned explosions, but also actively looked for ways to purchase explosives to implement their plan.
