History

2024: Launch of production of body armor

On August 1, 2024, a new production workshop of Kamyzyak Experimental Enterprise LLC (KEP), specializing in the production of body armor and other individual armor protection for law enforcement agencies, was opened in the Astrakhan region. The area of ​ ​ the new workshop is about 3 thousand square meters. meters.

According to Vitaly Shchepin, First Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and power of the region, KEP is one of the leaders in light industry in the Astrakhan region. The company demonstrates constant growth in production volumes and creates new jobs. KEP products, including body armor, armored plates, uniforms and unloading vests, are supplied for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and other law enforcement agencies, including from Belarus.

CEP Director General Vladimir Karpov said that the construction of his own workshop was made possible thanks to the support of the government of the Astrakhan region and the regional ministry of industry, trade and power. Prior to that, the company was located only in rented premises.

Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and power of the region Mikhail Kabakov spoke about the financial support of the enterprise. In November 2023, KEP received a loan of ₽30 million from the Industrial Development Fund of the Astrakhan Region under the Development Projects program at 1% per annum for a period of 7 years. In addition, in December 2022, the company was issued ₽4,5 million to replenish working capital under the Business Turnover program at 3% per annum for 2 years.

The Regional Industrial Development Fund, founded by the Astrakhan Region, provides targeted loans at a rate of 1-5% per annum for up to 7 years in the amount of ₽500 thousand to ₽50 million for the implementation of new industrial projects. With the assistance of the Regional Fund, regional enterprises can receive loans of up to ₽200 million from the Federal Industrial Development Fund (FRP).[1]
