The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service warned about the preparation in the United States of a series of publications about alleged doping violations in Russian sports of the highest achievements. According to the special services, the project is supervised by Sobolevsky and his former head, ex-head of the laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov, who became an informant of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

Earlier, the Investigative Committee of Russia reported on the cooperation of Sobolevsky and Rodchenkov with Professor Richard McLaren, an independent expert at WADA. McLaren presented a report on the existence in Russia of a state doping program and the substitution of doping samples of Russian athletes at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

According to the UK, Sobolevsky and Rodchenkov offered the former director of the anti-doping laboratory Maria Dikunets to transfer a database of primary test results for athletes in exchange for monetary rewards, asylum in the United States or Canada, as well as citizenship of one of these states.

The Investigative Committee also noted that until June 2016, Sobolevsky and Rodchenkov had access to the database of the Moscow Anti-Doping Center and could uncontrollably change this data in order to create false evidence.[1]
