2024: Product Announcement
At the end of August 2024, the company Re-Time Pty Ltd introduced special glasses from insomnias Retimer 3. According to the developers, the device improves sleep quality, reduces stress and improves performance by adjusting circadian rhythms.
The functioning of the body is subordinated to the natural circadian cycle, which controls the change of sleep and wakefulness, periods of performance, activation of digestion and many other functions. Circadian cycle disorders, such as through alcohol consumption or jet lag, can lead to poor health due to the development of insomnia and depression.
The developers of Retimer 3 glasses claim that this wearable device solves the problems of circadian rhythm disorders. To do this, the glasses emit a blue-green light that activates retinal cells that are responsible for sleep and wake cycles. It is assumed that the daily use of Retimer 3 for 30-45 minutes triggers a "reboot" of the body, but the results of light exposure to the body and sleep and wake cycles have not yet been studied enough, so the developers cannot guarantee 100% result.
The glasses come with a dedicated smartphone app that helps users track their progress. Additionally, Retimer 3 can integrate with Android Health Connect and Apple Health, allowing users to track their health status in a single app collecting data from a variety of sources.
Retimer 3 glasses weigh 36g and measure 174 x 166 x 25mm. Four blue-green 500-504 nm LEDs emit 506 lux/m2 or 204 μW/cm2 light. The wearable device works up to 5.6 hours from a rechargeable lithium battery 3.7 V 160 mAh. The device comes with three nose rest sizes, a USB charging cable, a soft bag and a travel case. Kickstarter prices range from $109 to $199 per unit, but may change after release.[1]
