The joint project Sibirtelecom and NVision Group on upgrade of the IPTV stations

Sibirtelecom and NVision Group completed the joint project on upgrade of head-ends of digital television of IP-TV of Sibirtelecom company in Omsk and Novosibirsk. Project cost was 3.8 million rubles.

Implementation of this project was aimed at increase in number of the broadcast channels in IP-TV service package, in particular channels of high definition of HDTV. Along with it, the lot of work directed to increase in level of fault tolerance in the scheme of work of the station in Novosibirsk which is responsible for broadcast of video signal was carried out.

As a result the Sibirtelecom company could provide to the subscribers access to viewing 11 channels of high definition of HDTV and also to satellite channels of standard clearness. When using an Ethernet network as transport on head-ends, the failsafe scheme of broadcasting of channels and also a possibility of reservation of acceptance of channels from different platforms was provided.

Implementation of the joint project allows to increase the number of new users of services of digital television and also to optimize housekeeping overheads of head-ends due to the choice of the optimal technical scheme of rendering of services.
