Biography

2013

Müller joined SAP in 2013 as the head of a network of innovation centers. Prior to that, he earned his PhD and worked as a research fellow and teaching assistant at the Hasso Plattner Institute, an educational institution established by the co-founder of SAP.

2024: Dismissal

In early September 2024, it became known that the technical director and member of the executive board SAP , Jürgen Muller, was leaving the company due to an "incident" at a corporate event.

In a statement, SAP said the company's supervisory board had reached an "understanding" with Mueller, who will be due to resign from the company's executive board at the end of September. In a prepared statement, Mueller said:

I behaved inappropriately at the company's past corporate event. I regret my inattention and sincerely apologise to all those affected. I acknowledge that my conduct at that point did not reflect SAP's values, take full responsibility, and believe leaving office will be the best solution for the company.

SAP declined to explain the essence of the "incident" that led to Mueller's firing and limited itself to the general words: "We thank Jurgen Mueller for his work and wish him well in future endeavors."

CEO Christian Klein is set to take charge of much of the service sector that Mueller previously ran. SAP's security and cloud team will join the customer service department under Thomas Sauressig, a member of the customer service board.

Müller played a key role in building SAP's business technology platform, which helps customers build cloud applications and integrate SAP's various services into their work, the company's management says.[1]
