2024: Sentence - 7 years in prison for fraud using an electronic signature

On September 2, 2024, a verdict entered into force against Inna Klimashina, chief accountant and director of the Togliatti company Continent. She was found guilty of fraud using an electronic signature and sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in prison in a general regime colony. According to the case file, Klimashina carried out illegal financial transactions using trusting relationships with the heads of the companies she served, which caused such a verdict.

According to Sledstvie.info, Inna Klimashina managed not only the accounting company Continent, but also other companies such as Planet (cargo transportation) and Hermes (retail trade in vegetables and fruits). Several criminal cases have already been opened against her. In February 2022, the accounts of "Continent" were frozen by the tax authorities, and the company itself was entered into the register of unscrupulous suppliers.

The first verdict of Klimashina was passed in 2023, when the Samara District Court found her guilty under the article on giving a bribe. Then she received 7 years in prison and a fine of ₽3 million for offering a bribe in the amount of ₽300 thousand to the head of the control and analytical department of MI FTS Russia No. 18 in Samara region order to avoid a tax audit of her company.

However, Klimashina's second criminal case concerned more serious financial fraud. According to the investigation, she provided accounting services to two organizations and had access to their bank accounts and electronic digital signature. Using this trust, Klimashina forged payment orders and transferred money from the settlement accounts of these companies to her personal accounts.

In April 2024, the Avtozavodsky District Court of Togliatti found her guilty of several episodes of fraud and illegal circulation of funds for payments. The court ruled on the partial addition of punishments, appointing Klimashina a final term of 7 years 6 months in prison and a fine of ₽3 million.^[1]
