Roskosmos announced in December, 2010 start of the geoportal providing to users access to space pictures. It located at the address geoportal.ntsomz.ru. On the portal it is going to provide continuous display of the Earth's surface from the satellites "Resource-DK1", "Monitor-E", "Meteor-M1", "Okean-O", "Resource-O" and also a number of foreign spacecrafts. On the website it is also specified that a part of pictures was received using the project of purchase of scientific data of the American Space Agency of NASA.
The geoportal should provide access to both physical, and legal entities to resources of uniform bank of geodetails and to provide quick search in the uniform directory of information of the remote sensing of Earth (RSE), calculation of coordinates and distances for the selected objects and also to create the order for archive materials of DZZ.
Pictures in high resolution will be free only for state structures. The rest should be paid, or to be content with pictures of lower quality. According to the chief of Scientific center of operational monitoring of Earth Nina Novikova, the price for pictures with the resolution of 50-100 m will be about 10 kopeks for square kilometer, for permission up to 2 m it is necessary to pay 150 rub for square kilometer.
In order that could use the portal and foreign users, standardized it in ISO 15000.
The project was created by "Russian Space Systems" (RSS) together with scientific research institute of precise instruments, being its part. As told CNews in RKS, works were performed within Research and Development. Creation of the geoportal cost more than 10 million rubles.
