2024: Raising $700,000 investment

Startup from UAE the Russian the roots of Verbatica, which is developing the educational latest generation platform for learning English and Arabic, has raised $700,000 in business angel investments. These funds will allow the company Middle East Africa to enter the market and Northern and prepare for the next round of funding, which is scheduled for November 2024. The company announced this on September 5, 2024.

The co-founder and CEO of the startup is Nikita Savilov, a graduate of MGIMO, with more than 10 years of experience at Skyeng. Also, the co-founder of the project was Nikolay Morozov.

The platform was developed with the participation of over a hundred active teachers and is based on their practical experience. The use of methodology supported by adaptive artificial intelligence contributes to improving the efficiency of language learning. Verbatica offers users the ability to learn on their own or with a teacher, switching between modes as needed. All training materials, including dictionaries and learning cards, are collected on the same platform.

The advantage of Verbatica is the concept of LQ (Language Quotient or language intelligence), which assesses the level of language proficiency in five aspects: classical - reading, listening, writing, speaking and the know-how of the development team - cultural features. This aspect involves a deep immersion in the culture of the language being studied. The platform recommends reading books, watching movies, learning the customs and history of peoples who speak the language. Verbatica also offers a study of slang, social media, trends and trends, which helps you learn the language faster and understand its context more deeply.

To launch the project, we chose the UAE, since it is a country with a high level of migration, where people from different parts of the world live. So, according to statistics from Dubai Land Department, in the first half of 2024, Russians entered the top 3 real estate buyers in the UAE, taking third place after India and the UK. Arabic and English are actively used here, which, given the ethnic diversity, creates a significant demand for the study of foreign languages. Many want to master English for career growth and Arabic for better adaptation in society. In the future, the product will be launched in Indonesia and further - throughout Asia, - said Nikita Savilov, founder and executive director of Verbatica. "In the next round of financing, which will be held in November, the company plans to raise an additional $2 million."
