2024: Plant Restart

In the Lipetsk region in September 2024, the Lipetsk Tractor Plant (LTZ) was resumed, which has not functioned since 2009. The restart of production was made possible thanks to an investment of ₽1,2 billion, which made it possible to restore production at the plant and bring it to a new stage of development. This step not only returns the plant to operation, but also strengthens the position of the region as one of the leading industrial centers in Russia.

According to Vedomosti, LTZ became the third resident of the Lipetsk special economic zone. Resident status provides the enterprise with significant benefits such as tax breaks, a free customs zone regime, and ready-made engineering infrastructure. The area of the special economic zone after the inclusion of the LTZ is now more than 2,400 hectares.

Lipetsk Tractor Plant resumed work after 15 years of downtime. 1.2 billion rubles spent on restart

Governor of the Lipetsk Region Igor Artamonov, who attended the opening ceremony of the plant, noted the importance of this event for the region. According to him, the plant has already launched the production of the first goods, and in the future it is planned to gradually restore all production capacities. The head of the region stressed that young specialists and entire labor dynasties work at the enterprise, which indicates the interest of local personnel in reviving the legendary plant.

Lipetsk Tractor Plant was founded in 1944 and for many years was considered one of the leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery in Russia. However, in 2009, due to financial difficulties, production was stopped. The decision to resume it was made in 2022, but the original investor, the Belarusian holding Amkodor, left the project in 2024, changing his strategy. After that, the enterprise was transferred to the Tractor Plants concern (KTZ), which independently engaged in the development of the plant.

Initial investments in the project amounted to ₽500 million, and by the end of 2025 it is planned to invest another ₽700 million. At the first stage, the company will be engaged in the production of excavators-loaders and communal machines based on tractors "Agromash 90 l. s.," As well as the production of attachments for mini-loaders "Chetra MKSM."[1]
