In September 2024, new Russian routers with support for GPON technology were presented in Yekaterinburg, providing speeds up to 1 Gbps. The development of the line of Wi-Fi devices was carried out by Iskra Technologiya in partnership with Rostelecom.
According to the developers, the devices, along with high data transfer rates, are also equipped with a system for protecting against cyber attacks, which makes them especially relevant for use in government agencies and corporations.
According to the press service of Iskra Technologiya, the main attention of the developers was focused on cybersecurity and resistance to external threats, which makes these devices in demand on the market to ensure the security of network infrastructure. According to Vladislav Davydov, General Director of Iskra Technologiya JSC, the company has already signed a contract with Rostelecom for the mass production of these routers. Production capacities allow the production of several hundred thousand devices annually. These products will become an important link in the import substitution program and will help Russian companies establish a stable and secure Internet connection.
By the end of 2024, we plan to deliver more than 50 thousand such routers to the homes and offices of our clients, - said Alexandra Iskhizova, director of work with the corporate and state segments of Rostelecom in the Urals. She also stressed that cooperation with domestic equipment manufacturers has become a key element in the implementation of the program to digitalize the country and modernize its information infrastructure. During this partnership, companies not only produce products, but also develop production, which has a positive effect on the socio-economic state of the region.
