2024: Release of cards with built-in LEDs that light up on payment

On September 12, 2024 Russia , the release of the first bank cards with built-in LEDs began, which light up when paid. The project was launched, and T-bank the first cards equipped with LEDs were Black debit cards. They glow when touching the terminal during payment, creating a visual effect that does not affect the functionality of the card and does not require recharging or additional power supplies.

According to T-Bank, these cards fully comply with the standards of durability and reliability that apply to traditional debit cards. LEDs are activated only when the card is directly touched to the terminal, and their use does not affect the life of the device. The new cards are available in four designs, which allows customers to choose a map that reflects their individual style.

According to Vladimir Lyubimov, Head of the Department of Deposit and Settlement Products of T-Bank, this initiative is focused on the modern needs of customers who seek to use unusual and technological solutions in everyday life.

Pre-order for new Black cards can be issued from September 12, 2024 through a special T-Bank landing, and from October 1, 2024, cards will be available for order on the official website and in the bank's mobile application. To draw up a map, you need to fill out a questionnaire and select one of the available designs. The cost of issuing a card for T-Bank customers is ₽1 000.[1]
