2024: Technology Creation
In September 2024, a new IT solution was presented in Russia, which allows you to identify vulnerabilities in Internet of Things systems at the development stage. This innovative solution was developed by scientists of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences) and is designed to ensure a high level of protection of critical digital systems.
The new technology simulates possible cyberphysical attacks and helps to find weaknesses in the infrastructure before systems are put into operation. The new solution allows developers and users of digital systems to receive a full assessment of the risks associated with possible threats and take timely measures to strengthen protection. According to Dmitry Levshun, senior researcher at the Laboratory of Computer Security Problems of St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the basis of the service is the use of artificial intelligence, which analyzes large amounts of data and helps predict threats. This solution is designed to analyze the resistance of systems to various types of cyber attacks.
RussiaThe IT solution includes a vulnerability database and artificial intelligence modules capable of simulating virtual attacks. It helps identify weaknesses in digital system configurations, which is especially important for infrastructures running on IoT technologies. In addition, the system analyzes the possible consequences of cyber attacks, which significantly reduces the risks of their successful implementation.
Andrei Chechulin, head of the International Center for Digital Forensics at St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, stressed that with the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the number of attacks on smart devices is growing. The implementation of this IT solution will significantly increase the security of such systems. In addition to analyzing current configurations, in the next stage of the project, scientists plan to analyze the source code of Internet of Things devices to more accurately identify vulnerabilities.[1]
