Season 2023/24: Revenues reached 1.74 billion rubles

Revenues of the United League basketball VTB for the 2023/24 season amounted to ₽1,74 billion. These data were announced in September 2024 at a press conference held at the VTB Arena. League revenues increased mainly due to sponsorship contracts with such large companies as VTB, Lukoil"," "and Sibur others. At the end of the season, league expenses amounted to ₽1,19 billion.

According to Forbes, a significant part of the league's income was provided by sponsorship agreements - about ₽743 million came from the main partners of the tournament, including VTB, Lukoil and Sibur. There is also an increase in revenue from ticket sales and an increase in prize payments to clubs - by 30% compared to the previous year. The largest revenues among the league teams were demonstrated by CSKA Moscow - ₽2,41 billion, followed by Zenit and Lokomotiv-Kuban with revenues of ₽2,09 billion and ₽1,5 billion, respectively.

The financial performance of other VTB United League clubs also demonstrates stability. For example, Kazan UNICS earned ₽1,22 billion, and Samara - ₽579 million. At the same time, clubs such as Paris Nizhny Novgorod and PARMA showed more modest revenues - ₽525 million and ₽459 million, respectively.

Special attention should be paid to the costs of clubs. The leader in budget volumes in the 2023/24 season was Zenit St. Petersburg, which spent ₽2,26 billion, of which ₽1,32 billion was the cost of salaries of players and coaches. It is noteworthy that, despite the highest expenses, Zenit could not win the champion title, losing to CSKA in the semifinals. At the same time, the army team ended the season with a profit of ₽267 million, which became a record in the league.

The 2024/25 season starts on September 21, 2024, and interest in the tournament is only growing, thanks to the participation of not only Russian, but also foreign clubs.[1]
