2024: Creating a Registry
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in September 2024 announced the creation of a digital register of companies operating in the field of industrial design and engineering. The new register will begin to operate on January 1, 2025 and will provide companies with access to government support measures, including financial assistance, information and consulting support and scientific and technical support.
According to CNews, the draft resolution of the Ministry of Industry and Trade "On the register of organizations of the industrial design sector, engineering organizations (engineering centers) in the field of creating industrial products and engineering organizations (engineering centers) in the field of creating industrial production" was published on September 10, 2024. It will include companies that meet the established requirements under the law "On Industrial Policy in the Russian Federation." The register will become an important tool to stimulate the development of industrial design and engineering industries, which play a key role in creating products and technologies.
Industrial design focuses on the development of mass-produced products with a focus on their functionality and usability, while engineering includes the design and implementation of engineering solutions aimed at creating and maintaining industrial systems. The purpose of the new register is to support companies engaged in these areas through access to benefits and preferences.
According to the decree, companies and engineering centers included in the register will be able to count on receiving various types of support. This includes state and municipal preferences, as well as support within the framework of scientific and technical activities. The register will be integrated into the state information system of the industry, and the formation and maintenance of data will be carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Organizations are required to confirm their compliance with the requirements of the law in order to gain access to the benefits and opportunities provided for the development of their business.[1]
