2024: Unified information and analytical system and pathogen monitoring networks. The head of Rospotrebnadzor reported to Putin about the digitalization of the department

In Russia, a unified information and analytical system has been created to ensure epidemiological safety in the country. In addition, a pathogen monitoring network is being developed. On September 16, 2024, Anna Popova, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor), reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The formed unified information system makes it possible to receive information about each case of an infectious disease recorded by medical workers in Russia within literally a few seconds. Information from anywhere in the country goes to the central office, which allows you to conduct an operational analysis of the situation. The database includes data for 30 years, which makes it possible to identify trends.

In turn, the pathogen monitoring network consists of three levels. These are, in particular, PCR centers that accumulate information. In addition, sequencing centers are involved, the number of which as of September 2024 reaches 54. Plus, about 20 high-level safety laboratories are included in the work.

A significant contribution to reaching anywhere in our country is mobile laboratories. We also increased capacity: there were five laboratories, now - 71. We can very quickly achieve practically - where there are roads - anywhere in the Russian Federation, in order to provide assistance to patients with infection, and figure out what happened, "says Popova.

Starting from 2023, the practice of interdepartmental interaction has been introduced to increase informing citizens about current topics. Rospotrebnadzor, together with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Economic Development and other federal educational institutions, implements various information formats on social networks for different target audiences, including through live broadcasts - streaming.[1]
